Friends,

We are writing to ask for your help to bring to justice the U.S. Park Police officers who killed Bijan Ghaisar in November 2017. We met Bijan’s mother Kelli and sister Negeen when they testified about the killing at the 2018 Clinton R. Allen Speakout in Dallas. We are working closely with the Ghaisar family on this campaign. We want to flood the Park Police web site with official complaints against these officers.
Bijan was unarmed and sitting in his car, when Alejandro Amaya and Lucas Vinyard shot him nine times through the driver’s seat window, including four shots to the head. You can find a good update and overview of the case, with video, in the Washington Post.
Will you help us by filing a complaint against Officers Amaya and Vinyard?

“This complaint is filed against U.S. Park Police (USPP) Officers Alejandro Amaya and Lucas Vinyard for killing Bijan Ghaisar 2017. I am requesting that these two officers be removed from the force immediately. Officers Amaya and Vinyard’s continued employment with a federal law enforcement agency is a significant and direct threat to the public’s safety, and I would fear for my life if they approached me anywhere in or around Washington, D.C, Virginia or Maryland. These 2 officers shot an unarmed man 9 times, 4 times in the head on November 17, 2017. He died from his wounds ten days later. The shooting was captured on dashboard video camera by the Fairfax County Police Department. The video shows that when he was shot, Bijan was sitting in his car after a chase by Officers Amaya and Vinyard — who approach his vehicle with guns drawn and begin shooting through the closed window. This is unacceptable conduct for a park police officer, whether or not Amaya and Vinyard ever face a trial jury. I am writing to demand that you fire officers Amaya and Vinyard from the force immediately.”
IMPORTANT: After you file your complaint, please send us a note saying it’s done to: info@mapbdallas.com. We will use this note to document the campaign. Please send your complaint this week.
Call John, 214-683-2493, with any questions.
Thanks for your help,
Collette, Sara, and John
